On behalf of the Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA) and the WCD 2015 National Organizing Committee, we are delighted to extend a warm welcome, and invite you to join us in beautiful Vancouver for the 23RD World Congress of Dermatology (23RD WCD) in 2015. The World Congress of Dermatology is the world’s oldest and continuous international dermatology meeting and takes place only once every four years. The first Congress in 1889 pre-dated the modern Olympics by seven years, and was last held in North America in 1992.
The National Organizing Committee, together with the ILDS Scientific Program Committee led by Professor Jean Bolognia, have been working diligently since the closing ceremony of the 22ND WCD in Seoul in 2011 to develop an unparalleled program for the 2015 World Congress. The Scientific Program Committee has committed to bringing global representation to a wide variety of subjects that are core to medical, surgical, and esthetic dermatology. There will be a vast range of special sessions to meet everyone’s interests. Young “Rising Star” dermatologists will be showcased in every session.
We hope many of you have or will have the opportunity to experience one of our special WCD Countdown & Preview Symposia held during recent AAD, EADV, and Asian Dermatological Congress meetings. These Preview Symposia have been designed to give delegates a taste of the quality and educational content that you can expect at the WCD in 2015.
Our Canadian reputation for hospitality, friendliness, safety, and efficiency will be extended to all delegates, sponsors, exhibitors, and accompanying persons. Situated against a stunning backdrop of mountains and the sea, the award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre (VCC) will not only serve as one of the most beautiful venues to ever host a World Congress of Dermatology, but also feature the latest technology to ensure that programs are interactive.
