Each tour has a minimum booking requirement, and tours are subject to cancellation by the Congress Organizer if the minimum quotas are not met. Full refunds will be provided in the event of cancellation by the Congress. Registered ticket holders must be a minimum of 18 years to participate in a tour on an individual basis. If under the age of 18 years, the participant must be accompanied on the same tour by a registered ticket holder 18 years or older.

Enjoy a relaxing ferry cruise through the Gulf Islands to British Columbia’s quaint capital of Victoria. Known for its old world English-style charm, Victoria is home to the most unique historical and cultural attractions in the province! Guests will have free time to explore the downtown core, enjoy boutique shopping and dining, or visit one of the many attractions such as the Royal BC Museum or Government House. After a visit to Butchart Gardens, guests will return to Vancouver via coach early evening and will enjoy a gourmet buffet onboard the return ferry before being transferred back to the Vancouver Convention Centre upon arrival in Vancouver.

This truly original public art tour of Vancouver covers a diverse cross-section of the city’s visual landscape. Participants will come away with a deeper understanding of the role that public art plays in the city, and also learn about the unique history and culture of Vancouver. The tour follows the picturesque Seawall through Coal Harbour, through Gastown and Chinatown, continuing through downtown on the dedicated bike lanes, then continues along the Seawall around False Creek. Along the way, your guide points out a multitude of different pieces ranging from sculptural installations, murals, fountains, mosaics, buildings, and even some unexpected surprises often overlooked including several contemporary pieces as well as some older relics that have fallen by the wayside. Whether you are an art aficionado, or a novice enthusiast this tour will let you see the city in a whole new way.

Vancouver has breath-taking sights that are best seen from the air, like the Capilano water shed and the back of the North Shore Mountains. Deep Cove and Indian Arm are just a few hidden treasures of the city and onboard a floatplane is the perfect way for your guests to explore them all in one grand, sweeping view. Guests will board their floatplane in the heart of the city at the waterfront Coal Harbour dock, taxiing into the Burrard Inlet and taking off for a 20-minute thrilling flight over the West Vancouver waterfront, North Shore mountains and the glacial fjords of Indian Arm.

The Pacific Ocean surrounding Vancouver is home to many permanent groups of the majestic Orca, or ‘Killer Whale’. Departing from downtown Vancouver, this whale watching and wildlife tour allows you to observe whales, porpoise and other diverse wildlife from the Pacific Coast in their natural habitat. This is truly an unforgettable trip, with memories that will last a lifetime!
Guests will board specially equipped boats in Vancouver’s harbour where the views of Vancouver and the Coast Mountains rise up dramatically from all sides. Passing English Bay and the Fraser River estuary, the boats head to the Strait of Georgia and directly into the summer playground of many marine mammals. Each trip, and every day is different, as the boats explore the Gulf Islands and San Juan Islands in search of resident whales and other marine wildlife.

The Majestic North Shore

This North Shore excursion takes guests over the famous Lions Gate Bridge towards the top two attractions in the city: Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain. The Capilano Suspension Bridge, set amidst a rainforest, was opened in 1889. The 450 foot-long bridge is set 230 feet above the Capilano River and connects the two halves of the park. The newest activity, the heart-stopping Cliffwalk, is worth the trip alone! Continue on to Grouse Mountain where guests will enjoy a thrilling Skyride to the summit. With breathtaking views of the city of Vancouver, guests will be amazed at the wilderness and natural beauty. Enjoy free time on Grouse Mountain where you can view the resident grizzly bears, enjoy the Logging Show or watch the Birds of Prey show.
UBC Botanical Garden, Nitobe Memorial Garden & Museum of Anthropology

A scenic drive by motor coach through neighborhoods and along the seawall brings guests to the University of British Columbia. The tour will begin at the UBC Botanical Garden which features the Canopy Walkway, a spectacular tree-top suspension bridge walk. The 308-metre walkway enables guests to surround themselves in the unique biodiversity of a Coastal Rainforest canopy. An informative naturalist will introduce guests to mosses, lichens, birds, insects and other invertebrates, and point out the bird’s eye views of Metro Vancouver and the Fraser River.
The second stop is the Nitobe Memorial Gardens, which is considered to be one of the most authentic Japanese gardens in North America and among the top five Japanese gardens outside Japan. Stroll around the ground, created out of two-and-a-half acres of pristine forest.
The last stop of the tour is the Museum of Anthropology which houses over 38,000 ethnographic objects and 535,000 archaeological objects, many of which originate from the Northwest Coast of British Columbia. Massive totem poles, carved boxes, bowls, and feast dishes are featured in the Museum’s Great Hall, while smaller (but no less magnificent) pieces in gold, silver, argillite, wood, ceramic, and other materials are exhibited elsewhere in the galleries. Guests will enjoy an informative and inspired guided tour through the collections before being given time to explore the grounds at leisure.

Ocean Kayaking in Deep Cove

Dip your paddle in the remote waters of Deep Cove and search for seals bobbing in the waves, eagles diving for salmon and brightly coloured sea stars clinging to the rocks. Enjoy the serenity of your remote surroundings where the North Shore Mountains drop into the protected ocean as an expert guide provides expert instruction and information about the surrounding area so that even first time kayakers will be comfortable and confident. Guests will enjoy a scenic 20-minute drive to the protected waters of Indian Arm Provincial Park. The park is 6,826 hectares in total and located within the core of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation (“People of the Inlet”) traditional territory. Indian Arm, an 18 kilometre fjord that extends north from Burrard Inlet, was once heavily glaciated, leaving behind a spectacular landscape featuring rugged, forested mountains, several alpine lakes, and numerous creeks and waterfalls, including the 50-metre high Granite Falls, whose mighty force is best viewed from the water.
